Lightweight fabrics in muted tones can help to give the illusion of extra space

On the other hand, you might prefer the rich, dramatic ambience of heavier fabrics that block more of the outside light. For the ultimate in darkened rooms, choose our blackout curtains.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet, you might also be interested in the sound-baffling qualities of fabrics, such as suede and velvet.

You can have your curtains respond at the push of a button. With an electronic curtain track system, drawing your curtains open and closed will be effortless.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long before I get my custom-order curtains?

On average, we sew curtains and have them installed in 3 to 4 weeks. Depending on the design and availability of fabrics, of course, the production time might be a little longer. We’ll be happy to keep you updated on the progress of your order.

  • Should I have my room painted before I decide on my curtains?

These two changes to your room can be significant. If you plan to change the colour of your room, the colour of your curtains might hang in the balance. In that case, decide on your curtains after painting. If, on the other hand, you’re painting only to freshen the existing colour, feel free to proceed in whichever order is convenient. The only precaution would be to protect your curtains whenever wet paint is near them.

  • If I have allergies, what kinds of curtains should I get?

Avoid thick, heavy curtains, which tend to retain allergy-triggering dust particles and pollen. They can also prove cumbersome to clean. Lightweight synthetics would be much easier to clean. For easier and more thorough cleaning, you would be better off with vertical or Venetian blinds.

  • How high should I position the curtain pole?

Positioning the curtain pole between the top of the window and 15 centimetres above it, will help make a small room look bigger. However, the position of the pole should also take into consideration the height of the ceiling. Placed too high, it would have the opposite effect and make a small room look smaller.

  • What is a pelmet?

A pelmet is a thin border, finished in timber or cloth, that caps the window covering. It is designed to hide curtain fittings and also help maintain comfortable temperatures inside the room. Without the pelmet, convection would allow hot air at the window to rise and circulate in the room.
